Picnics and Parties and Pets (Oh my!)

Can we reserve picnic pavilions for our party or visit?
Answer: Sorry, but all facilities are available on a first-come, first-served basis. To help ensure availability, arriver early and stay until your group arrives.
How many groups may use one pavilion?
Answer: Each pavilion has two picnic tables. Small groups are expected to use one table and share the other - it's just the nice thing to do.
Are barbecues permitted at the park?
Supervised use of gas or charcoal barbecue units are permitted WELL AWAY from the pavilions. Gas units are preferred. If charcoal is used, visitors MUST pack up and remove their ashes - DO NOT place them in the garbage or bury them at the park.
Are waste receptacles available at the park?
Yes, in addition to toters spaced throughout the park, each pavilion has a toter for trash and for recyclables
May I decorate the picnic pavilion for my party?
Answer: Well, yes, up to a point. Decorations may be attached at person-height using easily-removable attachments, like "painter's tape." Please DO NOT use staples, glue or other things that won't easily come off. Please DO NOT attach decorations that require someone to climb a ladder to remove.
Are pets allowed in the park?
Yes, city rules permit pets. Dogs MUST be on-leash at all times. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after pets. Remember that this park is open to visitors of all abilities, and many may be sensitive or fearful of animals - so be kind and understanding.

Amenities and Park Behavior

May we set up a "bounce-house" or similar play structure?
Answer: No, these are not allowed, especially structures that must be staked into the ground. Stakes can damage the irrigation lines under the turf.
Is the park open at night?
Answer: The park is equipped with solar lighting for safety and security purposes only. The park is closed at dark - check City of Vacaville for exact hours.
What should I do if I find something broken or in need of repair?
Answer: You can email a maintenance report to publicworks@cityofvacaville.com or call (707) 469-6500 during regular business hours.
Are there sponsorships available for the picnic pavilions?
Answer: All of the picnic pavilions have been sponsored. There may be one or two that still need to be painted by the sponsors. When Phase Two opens, there will be additional opportunities to sponsor benches and other amenities.
